  • What:

Noel’s Food Pantry is a ministry of Noel UMC that provides food once a month for households meeting eligibility criteria who live in the following zip codes in Caddo Parish: 71101, 71103, 71104 and 71105. The Food Pantry is operated by Director Mary Caldwell along with over 60 volunteers from Noel and various churches of all denominations.

When: Food Pantry Hours Monday-Thursday, 10am-2pm

Where: The Food Pantry is located within our church at 520 Herndon St., Shreveport, LA, 71101. Entrance faces Herndon Street.

Ministry: The Food Pantry is a multi-faceted gem allowing volunteers to use their time and talents to bag groceries, assist guests, unload trucks, and serve as greeters. It is a great way for students to acquire service hours. Both guests and volunteers are uplifted in body and spirit with love.

Throughout each month, food is collected from Noel and other churches for the Purple Bag ministry. The donated food enables the food pantry to provide a greater variety of nutritional items for our guests. Be sure to check out the Upcoming Events page to see Items Needed for the current month. Each bag donated makes a difference!

Purple bags can be brought to the Food Pantry during regular hours above, or to worship services or to the Church office during normal business hours. We also collect paper and plastic grocery bags for use in our pantry and also to make mats for the homeless. You can drop these off at the Food Pantry or Church Office.

Info: Those requesting food must provide a photo ID, proof of residency, date of birth for household members, and income verification for each person living in the household. Guests can receive food once a month. We also provide cat and/or dog food through collaboration with The Pet Pantry who furnishes the food already bagged and ready for our furry friends! Books and Bibles are provided upon request.

  • Noel reaches out to our brothers and sisters around the world with our primary focus being on Mexico missions.

A team travels by car to Juarez, Mexico, to build cinder block houses and relationships and to work in the medical clinic. All of this is done through Operacion Abrigo.
